4. Action Plans: Outcomes of the Workshop

Participants gave final presentations based on all the information and experiences gained throughout the workshop, focusing on the following points:

 

(1) How to promote BECs/GBCs or ZEBs in their respective countries by making use of discussions, lectures, site visits, etc.

(2) How to refine evaluation criteria and the BOJ procedure of the AEA.

(3) Key takeaways of ECAP 20.

Brunei Darussalam

– To clear definition of ZEB and ZEH.
– To be able to learn all efforts and initiatives by Net ZEB, ZEB Ready and ZEB orientation building (through site visits)
– To get knowledge and information sharing during class lectures and discussion.
– To be able to create networks with other AMS and EECJ.

– To disseminate all information to relevant colleagues in home country
– To socialize the ZEB criteria
– To identify any potential ZEB oriented building in home country for AEA submission

Cambodia

– The approach to the attainment of ZEB Ready facilities may first be focused on energy utilization aspect (efficiency and conservation).
– In the establishment of a ZEB Facility, the ROI / Payback should not be the main focus (since payback period is usually long).

(2) Action plan
– To establish collaboration with the Green Building certifying body (i.e., PGBC, PGBI, LEED, PSVARE,etc.
– To conduct seminars/ briefings/ meetings with Building Administrators of certified GB and non-GB certified in connection with the ASEAN EE Award in Buildings – ZEB Category and GB Category
– To establish technical working group (members coming from various building sector industry)

Singapore

– To be ZEB ready, there is a need to recognize the value in creative design, solutions and technologies that are cost effective and commercially available.

(2) Action plan
– To consider SLE (Super Low Energy) for public buildings in Singapore to take the lead.
– Holistic lifecycle approach
– To engage more with the industry stakeholder to jointly co-create a SLE ecosystem

Thailand

(1) Action plans
– To develop all new buildings to ZEB in 2037. To achieve the plan, Thailand set the rule that all buildings must be completed BEC standard.
– Future plan to upgrade BEC standard
– To operate the project by funding to renovate with the ZEB standard in 2020.
– To develop auditor training conservation for take care of and educating the energy conservation in Jan-Jun 2020.

Vietnam

– To understand ZEB development in Japan.

(2) Action plan
– To set up EE baseline of EEB and ZEB Ready for small and medium category of office and building and ZEB promotion to increase the AEA submission under ZEB category.

– To re-organize the national energy award in Viet Nam based AEA (including ZEB concept).
