In the current situation in which global warming is becoming a pressing issue worldwide, policies are required for realizing carbon neutrality. Particularly in the ASEAN countries, energy consumption in the transportation sector is expected to increase, making the promotion of policies for the transportation sector an urgent issue for the future CN. On the other hand, in Japan, energy consumption in the transportation sector has been reduced as a result of multifaceted and advanced measures in logistics efficiency, in addition to stand-alone measures for automobiles.
In this seminar, information on Japan’s advanced initiatives was shared, followed by Q&A session. The topics covered included transportation sector policies in Japan and ASEAN toward Carbon Neutrality (CN), an overview of logistics measures, improvements in regional logistics efficiency with a focus on smart logistics and excellent cases of logistics efficiency by business operators.
With these activities, participants could deepen their understanding of the details of the advanced and practical measures in Japan and could have an opportunity to consider their promotion in the transportation and logistics sectors of their own country to realize carbon neutrality. By holding this seminar, it was possible to effectively support the improvement of participants’ capabilities as the policy makers.
In addition, the activities could also contribute to creating an environment for business development by Japanese companies in the ASEAN region.
