As part of this year’s AJEEP Scheme 5 program, ECCJ implemented the CN diagnosis in the ASEAN region. This year, two CN diagnoses were scheduled for the industrial sector, and Unicharm Indonesia was selected as the first CN diagnosis site, where CN diagnosis were implemented for three days from September 17 to 19, 2024. After explaining the CN project formation, CN guidelines, and practical CN diagnosis method, the CN diagnosis was implemented at an actual factory. The factory’s energy manager, Indonesian government officials (MEMR), and ACE participated, and Japanese experts provided guidance on the CN diagnosis.
(1) Explained CN project formation, CN guidelines, and practical CN diagnosis procedures, ensuring understanding by those responsible for CN diagnosis.
(2) Confirmed the questions from ECCJ through the interviews based on preliminary survey data.
(3) Proposed eight primary proposals for CN measures and energy conservation measures based on the confirmation of facility operating conditions through the on-site survey, data measurement and data analysis.
ECCJ will calculate CO2 reductions for these proposals and continue discussions with the diagnosed company toward the formulation of a med- to long-term plan.
(4) An online meeting will be held in December after summarizing the results, and ECCJ will support the preparation of the report on the CN diagnosis results by the mid-term check meeting in February.
(5) Taking the company’s production and investment plans into consideration, ECCJ aim to formulate a med- to long-term plan for CO2 reduction by August, next year. As part of this effort, ECCJ will promote the adoption of new Japanese technologies for CO2 reduction, contributing to the benefit of Japanese companies.
(6) There are many Japanese companies in the industrial park where Unicharm Indonesia is located, and many of them are candidates for future CN diagnosis. ECCJ would like to horizontally expand the results of this CN diagnosis and spread the CN project formation.
