Observation of energy audit and provided guidance for training of trainers in Thailand on Sep. 2019
<Dispatch of experts>
Under the instruction and financial support of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), the Energy Conservation Center, Japan (ECCJ) observed and provided guidance for energy audit implemented in Thailand in September 2019 as part of the training of trainers (TOT) under AJEEP* Scheme 2 Qualified Energy Manager Training Project.
(1) The audit observations of two Thai trainees were implemented at a Japanese-affiliated machine tool factory and at a pharmaceutical factory, where ECCJ confirmed both trainees’ audit implementation conditions and provided guidance.

An overview of the energy conservation audits observation in Thailand is as follows.
(1) On September 3, ECCJ observed an energy audit of a Japanese-affiliated machine tool factory, investigated the enhancement of the heat insulating cover of a boiler steam piping and valve unit, and provided guidance to enable analysis of the relationship between the operating conditions and electric power consumption from the 24-hour measured electric power data of the chiller and air compressor.
(2) On September 4, ECCJ observed an energy audit of a pharmaceutical factory, taking measurements of the time series variations in the electric power consumption of the chiller as the equipment consuming the largest amount of energy, and providing guidance and confirming the progress of the plan to measure and analyse the chilled water flow and the inlet and outlet temperatures. However, because the same company had already built a system capable of real time visualization including the energy consumption conditions using IoT technologies and had been promoting energy conservation, ECCJ also advised the company to investigate submitting an application for the Thailand Energy Award as a excellent example in the future.
